New details on Chelsea restrictions –

The Chelsea Football Club is currently going through rather complicated times. Its owner, Roman Abramovich, close to Vladimir Putin, has decided to put the club he bought in 2003 up for sale. However, sanctions have been imposed on the London club by the British government, which reserves the right to “modify, revoke or suspend…at any time” this operating license called “Russian Regulations”.

Despite the sanctions, the club will still be able to pay players and staff as well as pay unpaid transfer fees or receive payments, although these will be frozen. Chelsea will also be allowed to spend a maximum of €600,000 on hosting home matches and cannot exceed €24,000 on all travel, raising questions in relation to the Champions League tie against Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy this Wednesday.
