Following the defeat conceded against Paris Saint-Germain (3-1), ASSE coach Pascal Dupraz wanted to salute the performance of his players, despite certain shortcomings, including the accuracy in the last move: “In the first period, we had the opportunity converted by Denis and other opportunities that we could have transformed with more technical accuracy. I’m proud of their game, but the only criticism I can make of the players is a certain lack of lucidity in certain actions. But I’m happy with the content, I repeat. We leave with regrets, it situates the quality of our performance.

Still at the press conference, the technician from Saint-Etienne did not hide his joy at having played PSG at this stage of the season, thus allowing him to think about more affordable matches on paper: “We are the first of the ‘last’ to face PSG. We got rid of it. We have good hopes of rectifying the situation, to allow ASSE to remain in L1. We have assets, we could see it this (Saturday) evening, despite the absence of our captain and top scorer (Wahbi Khazri). We are going to prepare for the match against Metz next weekend. I hope we will find him against Metz.”
