Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, General Overseer of the United Denominations of Action Chapel International, has urged middle-aged men to prioritize their prostate health.

Sharing his personal experience, the Archbishop revealed that early detection was crucial in his successful battle against prostate cancer, which remains a leading cause of death among black men.

Delivering this message during the 31st all-night service at Action Chapel on December 31, 2024, he emphasized the importance of regular medical check-ups and proactive health measures.

The sermon, which marked the crossover into the New Year, 2025, inspired congregants to adopt healthier lifestyles and seek timely medical attention.

“If you are 40 plus, make sure you are checking your prostate, you hear me? If you are 40 upwards, make sure you are checking your prostate. Check your prostate at least every three or six months.

“Prostate is one of the things that is killing Black men. I know some places that I can recommend to you too and they can help you and save your life. They saved my life, there are people standing here, I recommended them and they saved their lives.

“If I didn’t do the check I did at the time I did it, I wouldn’t be standing on my feet, I wouldn’t be here. Cut it at the right time, and the enemy has an agenda and it was hiding.”

He said that since the elections were over, it was proper that everyone get on board to make the president succeed in his endeavour to improve on the fortunes of the nation.

Mr John Mahama, Ghana’s president-elect, says there is a difficult task ahead for the country following the outcome of the December 7 elections.

He has thus called on Ghanaians to demonstrate religious faith, particularly through prayers and fasting, to help the nation navigate the challenges ahead.

Mr Mahama explained that the campaign and election period was the easy part; however, the task ahead after he takes office will be more difficult, thus highlighting the need for support.

“The easy part is over – the campaign and the elections were the easier phases. Now the real work begins, so if we prayed and fasted for a successful election, now is the time to pray and fast even more, so that God will elevate our nation and make it the ‘Black Star’ of Africa again,” he said.

The incoming president made these remarks during an end-of-year sermon on December 31st at an Assemblies of God Church in Tamale.

He also called for collaboration to ensure that the country is governed in the right direction, stating that his party, the NDC, cannot achieve this alone.

Mr Mahama will be sworn into office next week following his landslide victory in the December 7 general elections.
