Wike Doesn’t Listen, Behaves Like Emperor

Lawmaker representing Federal Capital Territory, Senator Ireti Kingbe, has said that former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike is not sensitive to the plight of FCT’s people.

Senator Ireti stressed that the FCT’s Minister behave like who is an emperor, adding that he doesn’t listen.

Speaking on Tuesday, during an interview with Channels Television, the female lawmaker accused Wike of owing salaries and not carrying her along in the drafting of the budget for the city.

She added that all spectrums of insecurity, such as one-chance robbery and kidnapping, have become common occurrences in Abuja because the minister failed in his responsibility.

Senator Ireti said that Abuja roads have been thrown into pitch darkness due to a lack of streetlights, fuelling insecurity.

She said: “In the last few months, I gave it some thought and said at the end of the day, all I want is my people to benefit. If being less antagonistic to the minister would help bring development to the people, then fine.

“So, I decided that in spite of the things that I don’t like that he is doing, I will minimise my public criticisms of him, but it’s not made any difference because he has an emperor mentality.

“Solar lights are cheap, but how many can I put? For where I can put one, the minister can put a thousand. Do you see the difference?

“You know, I was not interested in running, you want to bet? I know for certain that when I decide to run, it’s a shoo-in.

“It’s only people who have lived here for a long time, who know that the people of the FCT have their independent mind. And it’s people who live here, you walk on the streets, and you will know that the one thing that unites us all in the FCT is our resentment of the minister.”
