Ondo Amotekun Arraigns Trader For Defiling 11-year-old Stepdaughter

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, has arraigned one Eden Reuben before an Akure Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defiling his 11-year-old stepdaughter.

It was gathered that the suspect, who is said to be a trader, was dragged before the court by the security agency on two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault.

The prosecuting counsel, P. O Nwafor, noted that the defendant committed the crime between August 2022 and May 2025 at his residence, along Hospital Road, Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo state.

Nwofor informed the court that Mr. Reuben had since 2022 been sexually abusing the victim who had been living with him since the age of eight.

He revealed that a neighbour of the suspect who noticed the victim’s behaviour informed the mother who in turn reported to the Amotekun corps.

The charge reads: “That you; Eden Reuben Olah sometime in August 2022 at about 08:30pm and on May 2025 at Hospital Road, Ilara-Mokin within the criminal jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did forcefully had carnal knowledge of ( name withheld) ‘F’ without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 3 (1) and (2) of the Ondo State Violence Against Person (Prohibition)”Ondo tourism.

Nwofor urged the court to remand the defendant pending the issuance of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Meanwhile, counsel to the defendant, A.I. Musa sought the court’s prayer for an adjournment in order to enable the accused reply the prosecution’s application.

Magistrate Damilola Sekoni, who declined the complainant’s request to withdraw the case, ordered that the defendant be held in Amotekun custody with the case subsequently adjourned to July 7 for a ruling on the application.
