Ten Arrested Over Kidnap, Murder Of Pig Farmer In Anambra

Ten suspects have been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command in connection with the abduction and murder of a pig farmer in Nimo, located in Njikoka Local Government Area.

The police identified the victim as Ozor Chido, who was reportedly abducted by masked assailants on the morning of June 19, 2025, at his pig farm in Nimo, and found dead near the same location on June 23.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the state police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said operatives from the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu apprehended the suspects on Saturday following an investigation.

Ikenga stated that, following directives from the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, the operatives will move on to the next course of action after processing the gathered information.

He said, “Police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu on 28th June 2025, arrested 10 suspects over an ongoing investigation of a recovered lifeless body of an alleged kidnapped victim near a piggery farm at Nimo on June 23, 2025.

“While the suspects are still undergoing interrogation over the incident, the operatives are ready to proceed to the next line of action after processing the information as directed by CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command.

“Further development would be communicated, please.”
