After joining Manchester United for £70 million from Real Madrid, newly acquired player Casemiro has participated in his first practice with the team.
In a video that United shared, Erik ten Hag can be seen keeping an eye on the Brazilian midfielder as well as teammates Donny van de Beek, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Raphael Varane.
After saying farewell to the Spanish earlier this week, Casemiro, 30, also gave his first interview as a Red Devil earlier on Thursday. In it, he stated that he is eager to get started on his new team.
Manchester United posted a video of Casemiro being put through his paces at the Carrington training centre.
Before participating in a passing exercise with former Los Blancos teammates Varane and Ronaldo, the Brazilian warms up by doing sprints with United reject van de Beek.
Even worse, he can be seen nutmegging the French centre-back, which he won’t be praised for.
Casemiro spoke in-depth about the potential of hooking up with his new squad members, one of whom he is accustomed to controlling the middle of the park alongside on the national team, in his first official interview with the club earlier on Thursday.
He’s a wonderful player, which is why he plays for Manchester United and the Brazilian national team, which is hard to get into, according to fellow midfielder and Brazil international Fred. As a result, we have a special bond, and he is a fantastic athlete.
I consider him to be a player with good movement. He can play with both feet, left or right, and he can pass the ball well with either foot. He is very mobile, passes the ball well, has a solid shot, and can play with both feet. He’s a fantastic athlete. I believe he will be very helpful to me at the club, and I must have another Brazilian here as well.
Along with Ronaldo and Varane, with whom he shared four of his five Champions League championships, the 30-year-old spared no mention of them.
“He [Raphael Varane] tells me he’s delighted,” he continued. As we all know, Cristiano is among the greatest players in football history, and I believe he will continue to achieve great things. His family is very delighted to be living here in Manchester, and I believe Manchester United has a terrific centre-back in him.
