Marriage No Longer Feels Certain For Me

Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has shared that he’s no longer sure about settling down anytime soon.

In a chat on The Esther Show, shared on YouTube, the ‘Oluwa Ni’ crooner revealed that his perspective on marriage has changed over the last two months.

Although he didn’t go into details about what prompted the shift, Banks made it clear that his decision isn’t tied to his music career.

He pointed to personal growth and emotional development as key factors, while noting that marriage could still be a possibility later on.

“In my last interview, which was two months ago, I was pretty sure about my stance. I said I would get married later in the year, but now I’m in a very different place,” he said.

“So, I can’t say anything definite about getting married now. Back then, I was sure, but now I’m not.”

“It has nothing to do with my music career. It’s about me and my emotional intelligence, which I’m still working on.”

Even with his uncertainty, Banks expressed continued faith in the idea of marriage, noting that his parents’ union remains his standard of what a solid relationship should look like.

“Absolutely, I’m still open to getting married in the future. That’s the life I’ve always known because my parents were married until my mum passed away,” he added.

The singer became a father in September 2024, following the birth of his first child with his British partner.

Born Ayoleyi Solomon, Banks shot to fame after joining Mavin Records in 2014. He parted ways with the Don Jazzy-led label in 2018 and has since continued to thrive as an independent artist.
