Some gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers have killed one Jafar, a student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, in Lapai, Lapai Local Government Area of the state, during a raid in his hostel.
It was gathered that the deceased, who was in 200 level from Faculty of Education in IBBU, was also the only son of his parents.
In a statement by Spokesman for Nigeria State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun on Monday, revealed that Jafar was stabbed in the neck by the criminals who invaded his room near the university’s gate at about 2:30 am on Sunday.

Abiodun said: “Today being 23rd June, 2025 at about 3am, information was received that at about 2:30 am, some hoodlums attacked a student lodge at Ndakitabu area via Lapai.
“Police operatives of Lapai Division rushed to the scene, but the suspected robbers had escaped.
“Unfortunately, one Jafar was stabbed in the neck and he was rushed to General Hospital Lapai where he was later confirmed dead.
“The Commissioner of Police directed that the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be arrested and brought to book.”
