Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, has declared that the party will decisively address acts of disloyalty at its forthcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for June 30, 2025.
Speaking with news men Thursday, George emphasised that the party will no longer tolerate members working against its unity.
He specifically addressed the influence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stating that he does not control the PDP.

“Nyesom Wike does not own the PDP; he joined the party just like everybody else did. If you think it’s only because of his money that he remains a member of the party, wait until the NEC meeting where decisive actions will be taken on all those who have committed a ‘hara-kiri,’” George said.
He added that unlike the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he alleged is controlled by a single individual, the PDP remains a democratic institution with shared leadership.
His comments come amid escalating tensions within the PDP over the upcoming NEC meeting.
Rumours of a postponed NEC meeting and Senator Anyanwu’s return as National Secretary were swiftly denied by the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC).
George maintained that Wike’s role in the party’s internal wrangling has been exaggerated and warned that discipline will be enforced at the meeting.
“The party is greater than any individual. No one is above the rules,” he concluded.
As the PDP prepares for the landmark 100th NEC meeting, all eyes are on how the party leadership will manage internal power struggles and reassert its authority.
