FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has urged his allies to campaign using his administration’s achievements instead of resorting to rigging or propaganda.
Wike made the call on Tuesday during the commissioning of the Idu-Zuba road, one of the key projects completed under his watch to mark President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
The inauguration was conducted by Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, who represented the president.

Addressing the gathering, Wike said his work in the FCT speaks louder than any campaign promise.

“For those who want to run elections in the Area councils, I don’t know what they will preach to the people,” Wike stated.
He continued, “But for those who are with us, they have the opportunity to tell people what we have done, so people should not waste their money.
“The result is the rigging by what we have shown. So, not when you fail, you say you were rigged. Look at the rigging, the project is the rigging.”
Wike emphasised that infrastructure like roads, bus terminals, and schools will convince voters better than rhetoric.
“When you provide what the people want, everything is gone, so those of you that are my friends, we will come out and tell the people to look at the roads, bus terminals, schools.”
His remarks come as the FCT prepares for hotly contested council elections, with parties already mobilizing at the grassroots level.
