Jigawa PDP Joins All Democratic Alliance, Inaugurates Committees

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has officially joined the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), a coalition movement formed to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in Dutse, Chairman Aminu Abdullahi Taura said inaugurating 27 LG committees is part of efforts to reclaim power from the APC at state and national levels.

According to Taura, the decision to align with ADA followed extensive consultations with party stakeholders across the state.

“We met and inaugurated the state coordinating committee to oversee the process. We also inaugurated the same committee at the local government level,” he said.

He further stated that the local government teams will now engage ward and polling unit structures to ensure grassroots mobilisation and proper coordination of the coalition movement. “This is about building a structure that can deliver results come 2027,” Taura emphasised.

Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, recently declared his support for any credible movement that could end APC’s rule.

Taura also confirmed that the party leadership, under Lamido’s influence, has been in talks with ADA to consolidate efforts ahead of the polls.

“Our goal is simple rescue Nigeria from the misrule of APC. We are working with like-minded forces to make it happen,” he added.

He urged party members to stay united and await further directives, assuring that strategic planning was already underway at all levels to ensure electoral victory.
