Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has revealed why he declined a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris at a recent crusade held in the state.
While delivering a Sunday sermon at the church’s headquarters in Abuja, Enenche stated that he has a personal principle against accepting money from the government or political figures.
He said, “For some people, that may be a surprise because they don’t know who we are. But for those who know us, that’s no surprise at all.

“That’s how we’ve lived, and that’s what we’ve stood for.”
Enenche clarified that his decision was not a personal stance against Idris but a commitment to principles he has upheld for more than two decades.
He recounted how he declined an offer of money following a national pilgrimage to Jerusalem with former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014, stating, “By the time we returned, the board chairman brought an offering and said this is their honourarium to me for going. I said no.”
He further noted that even during President Jonathan’s visit to his church, no money was exchanged.
“Government funds are not in this project, not one naira,” he said, referring to the church’s headquarters building.
He shared that he once declined a car gift from a childhood friend who later became a minister, and also turned down offers from former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom.
Enenche stated, “I don’t want to touch any dime of government money,” explaining that this stance allows him the freedom to speak boldly to those in authority.
