As part of efforts to end ongoing dispute withing stakeholders in Rivers State, President Bola Tinubu has met with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.
INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that other people in the meeting, includes Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martins Amaewhule and members of the assembly.
It was gathered that the President, on Thursday, at the meeting, reconciled the parties involved in a political crisis that resulted in a declaration of emergency in the state on March 18.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Wike assured Nigerians, particularly Rivers people that no more disagreement between him and his successor.
He said: “We have all agreed to work together. Everything is over.
“We are members of the same political family. As humans, we have disagreements.
“We also have time to settle the disagreements. There is no more acrimony. Everything is over. It’s a day we have to thank the Almighty.”
Also addressing journalists after the reconciliation meeting in Abuja, Governor Fubara, reaffirmed his commitment to restore peace in Rivers State.
He said: “It’s important that this day has come. What we need in Rivers is peace. We shall do everything in our power to sustain peace in Rivers State.”

Meanwhile, Special Adviser Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga in a post via his X page on Friday, confirmed the development.
Onanuga hailed the President’s effort in returning peace to Rivers State.
He said: “President Tinubu has demonstrated once again that he wants peace for Rivers State.
“Just like he brought together the political gladiators to sign a peace deal in December 2023, he repeated the same on Thursday night, three months after he imposed the March 18 state of emergency.
“FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and House Speaker Martins Chike Amaewhule all took part in the peace talks at the Villa.”
