“Don’t Be Deceived” — Tacha Opens Up On Harsh Realities Of Life In UK

Reality TV personality and influencer, Tacha Akide, has triggered reactions on social media following her comments on the economic realities faced by Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.

Now based in the UK, the former BBNaija star shared her thoughts in a video that surfaced on YouTube on Tuesday, challenging the common belief that Nigerians abroad enjoy better financial stability than those at home.

Tacha pointed out that contrary to popular assumptions, many Nigerians in the UK are struggling to stay afloat due to the country’s high cost of living.

She observed that some individuals in Nigeria might actually be faring better than those who have relocated overseas.

“You see those of you always having inferiority complex in Nigeria, thinking everyone here is rich, most people here are broke. The most broke people I have met are actually the people I met in the UK. Everyone is holding themselves. It is expensive,” she said.

Tacha went on to emphasize that the lifestyle abroad isn’t as glamorous as it’s often portrayed, urging people planning to relocate not to do so with unrealistic expectations.

“Trust me when I tell you that the living situation here is not rosy. In fact, most people in Nigeria are living better off than people actually living here. So if you want to move, go ahead, but not with the mentality of ‘oh, it’s all rosy.’ You see yourself spending 300k on a freaking taxi in a freaking day, 1 million on a car in a week unless you want to use the train. Think about your decision,” she added.
