The Nigerian Army has announced the successful killing of at least 60 terrorists in a coordinated land and air offensive conducted early Friday in Bita, Borno State.

The operation, executed by troops under Operation Hadin Kai, specifically targeted Boko Haram fighters and affiliated insurgent groups that have recently intensified their attacks across the northeastern region.

According to military sources, the “decisive and coordinated” assault was launched in response to a surge in terrorist activity, including a recent deadly attack in Izge, Gwoza Local Government Area, which claimed the life of a Nigerian Army captain.

Military spokespersons said that the offensive involved ground forces supported by precision airstrikes, resulting in heavy casualties among the terrorists, the destruction of their hideouts, and the recovery of weapons and logistics.

The army reiterated its commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgent groups and restoring peace in the region. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces.

This latest operation marks one of the most significant blows dealt to insurgents in recent months, as security agencies ramp up counter-terrorism efforts in the northeast.
