African Famous Writer Ngungi Wa Thiong’o Dies At 87

One of the well-known writers in African Ngungi Wa Thiong’o has died at age of 87, his family has confirmed about the death.

Ngungi wrote many powerful books such as weep not, A Grain of Wheat and Petals of Blood which are still taught in schools across Africa. His stories talked about freedom, justice and the importance of African culture.

Ngungi was born in 1938 during Kenya’s colonial period and became one of the most respected authors in Africa known for his strong commitment on African identity.

He will be remembered not just for his writing but for encouraging Africa to be proud of their language and history and his courage will continue to inspire young people across the continent.
