Super Eagles manager, Eric Chelle has said that the upcoming Unity Cup will be a chance for him and his technical team to test new players ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers later in the year.
INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that Nigeria will be competing at the 2025 edition of the Unity Cup with Black Stars of Ghana, Jamaica, Soca Warriors of Trinidad and Tobago.
Speaking with NFF.com on Thursday, Coach Chelle said that the Unity Cup will help him test the capacity of the newly invited players.

He said: “We are looking forward to taking part in the Unity Cup as it will give us the chance to try out a few new players in different roles, helping us to strengthen our squad before the matches in September and October.”

The Unity Cup will run from May 27 to May 31, 2025.
All the matches will be played at the Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium in London.
Nigeria lost huge chance of gaining more strength in the qualification group against Warriors of Zimbabwe in Uyo- Stadium last month.
The visitor sabotaged Victor Osimhen’s goal with a late strike as Super Eagles remain in number four, while South Africa comfortably remain in the number one on the list.
