Osimhen Scores Brace As Galatasaray Knocks Mourinho’s Fenerbahce Out Of Turkish Cup

Super Eagles’ forward, Victor Osimhen on Wednesday scored two goals as Galatasaray beat Fenerbahce 2-1 in a dramatic Turkish Cup quarter-final clash.

Turkey international Baris Yilmaz provided an for Osimhen to get the opening goal after 10 minutes.

The Nigerian striker then doubled his tally in the 27th minute from the penalty spot, giving his team a comfortable 2-0 lead before halftime.

Osimhen was booked for a foul in the 85th minute.

Later, he was replaced by Spain international Alvaro Morata.

The 26-year-old has now registered 27 goals and five assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds this season.

Jose Mourinho’s side managed to pull one back just before the break, with Sebastian Szymański finding the net in first-half stoppage time (45+1’), but it was not enough to turn the tide.

Despite late attempts to equalize, including substitutions involving Mert Yandaş and Kerem Demirbay in the 90+2 minute, Fenerbahce fell short as Galatasaray held on for the win.
