Actress Iyabo Ojo has recalled how her veteran colleague Bimbo Akintola introduced her to veteran actress Keppy Bassey, which helped her break into the industry.
While speaking about her path to Nollywood, Iyabo detailed it in a video shared on Instagram.
Bimbo Akintola’s performance in the film Out of Bounds, according to the mother-of-two, inspired her. Iyabo claimed she contacted Bimbo, who provided her acting advice and introduced her to Keppy, who assisted her in landing her first role. She stated,

“How did I start out in Nollywood? Okay, when I was done with secondary school I watched this movie called Out of Bounds, I fell in love with Bimbo Akintola’s acting. watching her on-screen that day I just said this is it.
So the first thing I had to do was go look for Bimbo Akintola. I found her helpfully by one of my friends and I told her I wanted to actress she was very warm, accomodating and then she taught me a few tricks and told me I had to register with AGN and I had to start going for auditions, I started moving around with her and I was going with her for auditions.
And then she introduced me to uncle Keppy Ekpenyong Bassey and his beautiful wife they were so nice to me and one day he just gave me a note somewhere in Surulere so I took the note and I went there and they said she still have to queue. And I was very excited at least for the first time I was going to have that opportunity to work in front of the camera and that was a big deal for me.”
