Bayern Munich’s victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening not only made them the first team in Europe to win ten league titles in a row in one of the top five leagues, but it also set a new record within Germany.
Bayern has already won the Bundesliga for the tenth time in a row, but no other German club has ever won ten league titles in a row.
Bayern has won 17 league titles in the twenty-first century alone, while also finishing second in three seasons.

1. FC Nurnberg is the second most successful team in history, with nine trophies to their name. Their last title was in 1967/68, and they are now sixth in the 2. Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund is the second best-performing club and the most successful team in the twenty-first century, having won eight Bundesliga titles in all, three of which have come this century.
Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV are the only other teams with more than five titles, despite the fact that both are now in the 2. Bundesliga.
Stuttgart and Borussia Monchengladbach have both won five titles this century, with Stuttgart being the only other team with more than five titles to have won one.
