San tribe, also called Bushmen, are indigenous people of southern Africa, commonly related to the Khoekhoe. They dwell principally in the regions in Botswana, Namibia, and southeastern Angola. The hunter-gathering tribe has been living in Southern Africa for at least 30,000 years and they are believed to be not only the oldest African tribe, but quite possibly the world’s most ancient race. The historical presence of the San in Botswana is particularly evident in northern Botswana’s Tsodilo Hills region. The tribe also have the most diverse and varying DNA than any other indigenous African group. This means the San are directly descendants one of the original ancestral human groups.

The Maasai tribe are an indigenous tribe dwelling in Africa of semi-nomadic people settled in Kenya and northern Tanzania. According to the oral tradition of the Maasai tribe, the tribe descended from north of Lake Turkana in the lower Nile Valley. They started migrating south in the fifteen century, but are believed to have existed as a distinct tribe for over three thousand years ago.

It is believed that modern Berbers are the descendants of the pre-Arab inhabitants of North Africa. Regarded as one of the oldest tribes in Africa, one of the earliest groups of Berbers were the Caspians, who lived in the region over 10,000 years ago during the Neolithic era.

Sandawe tribe are an indigenous of Southeast Africa, settling in the Chemba District of Dodoma Region in central Tanzania. Considered as one of the oldest tribes in Africa, the Sandawe originated from some of the first humans and shared a common ancestor with the San tribe, who are believed to be the oldest race in the world.
