Why Ronaldo Nazario was right to say Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a great signing for Barcelona

Before the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal, the 32 year old was not included in Arsenal’s starting 11 after a disciplinary breach. He returned late from a trip abroad and Mikel Arteta excluded him from selection.

The Gabonese striker was forced to train by himself and stripped of the Arsenal captaincy. Barcelona later came knocking at his door in the January transfer window and he eventually joined the Catalan club after the Gunners allowed him to leave the club for free.

Aubameyang still had some month left on his contract with Arsenal but the Gunners released him for free and he joined Barcelona in the January transfer window.

The 32 year old scored 92 goals in 163 games for the Gunners and won the FA Cup before his departure the club. He had 18 months left of his contract worth £350,000 a week but Arsenal wants to get his weekly wages off their books and the premier league club made a saving of around £25 million in wages with Aubameyang’s departure.

The Gabonese striker has been highly impressive in performance ever since he joined Barcelona. He has scored 9 goals in 11 games for the Catalan club so far this season. Aubameyang scored a brace during barcelona 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the El Clasico.

Football legend Ronaldo Nazario said Aubameyang is a great signing for Barcelona and he has the characteristics of a traditional centre-forward but he also has the speed to go into space. Ronaldo added that he loves how he moves and also loves his finishes.

Aubameyang has regained back his form under Xavi and has formed an excellent attacking partnership alongside Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres.
