Uber Driver Assault Case: Woman Speaks Out On Why She and Her Friends Allegedly Targeted Men
One of the three women accused of allegedly sexually assaulting an Uber driver has sought to explain the circumstances surrounding the incident, claiming that the group turned to such encounters because they were struggling to attract men for relationships.
The woman, speaking in an interview with Kasapa FM, suggested that a lack of romantic attention from men had influenced the women’s behaviour.
She claimed they viewed sexual encounters as a way of satisfying their desires whenever an opportunity arose.
She also questioned why the Uber driver decided to make the alleged incident public, suggesting that he may have enjoyed the encounter despite his subsequent account of the incident.
“I have not got any man coming my way for us to be in a relationship. That is what we also do to make ourselves happy. We wouldn’t say that because men are scared of approaching us, we wouldn’t have sex. After having sex with us, didn’t he enjoy it?” she said.
The woman said she was uncertain why men were reluctant to approach them but speculated that their physical appearance, body shapes and perceived social standing could be factors.
She explained that the women sometimes dressed up and went out in the hope of meeting men and potentially establishing relationships.
She maintained that their intention was not to engage in prostitution but to find male partners.
“Sometimes, we can dress up and step out, not to say we are into prostitution, but because we want a man in our lives,” she said.
She further alleged that the Uber driver was not the first man to have experienced a similar encounter with the women.
According to her account, two other men had allegedly gone through comparable experiences but had not publicly discussed them.
“We are starving for men to have sex with us, and that is why, if we get any chance, we grab it. He is not the only person who is a victim. He is about the third man we have done that to, so why haven’t the other two men taken the issue to the public?” she asked.
Her comments follow an account by the Uber driver, who alleged that he was sexually assaulted by three women at an apartment in East Legon Hills.
The driver, who lives in Kasoa Budumburam, said the women initially booked him to transport them to East Legon Hills.
According to his account, he interacted with the three women during the journey and later agreed to return the next morning to transport them back to Kasoa.
He said that after reaching their destination, the women invited him briefly into the apartment so he could become familiar with the location before returning the following day.
The driver alleged that the situation changed after he entered the property, claiming that one of the women locked the door and took possession of the keys.
He further alleged that the three women physically overpowered him and sexually assaulted him despite his attempts to leave.
According to the driver, one of the women restrained his legs while the others allegedly took turns sexually assaulting him.
He said the incident left him physically exhausted and unable to immediately resume his normal activities.
The driver claimed that after eventually leaving the apartment, he returned to his vehicle and slept for about two hours because of the physical weakness he experienced following the alleged incident.
