A chilling account has emerged from the final moments before Wicknell Chivayo’s helicopter crashed, leaving Zimbabwe in shock and raising fresh questions about the tragedy.

Chivayo’s senior security aide, Froster Chisi, has spoken about what he observed while travelling in another helicopter near the aircraft carrying the businessman.

According to Chisi, the weather had become difficult during the journey. His account has drawn attention because he was among the last people to see Chivayo alive before the fatal crash.

The two helicopters were travelling separately, meaning Chisi was not inside the aircraft when it went down. He described weather conditions that had deteriorated significantly, an observation that investigators may consider as they work to establish what happened.
