Accept my apology, I am ‘bitterly’ sorry for speaking against you on my show – Nana Kwame Jantuah

Nhyira FM broadcaster Nana Kwame Jantuah has apologized to Emefa Hardcastle over comments he made following a heated confrontation involving the parliamentarian and Annoh Dompreh.

Jantuah, who discussed the incident during a broadcast, admitted that some of his remarks were inappropriate and did not meet the professional standards expected of a journalist. He expressed regret if his comments negatively affected Hardcastle’s reputation or contributed to further tension surrounding the controversy.

The broadcaster acknowledged that journalists have a responsibility to remain objective, particularly when reporting or commenting on politically sensitive matters. He conceded that his initial reaction to the incident did not reflect the neutrality and professionalism required in such circumstances.

Jantuah subsequently appealed to Hardcastle and her office to accept his apology, acknowledging that he could have approached the matter in a more balanced and professional manner.

He also spoke positively about Hardcastle’s role as a parliamentarian, describing her as someone committed to representing her constituents. According to him, he regretted that his earlier remarks may have created an unfair impression of her character or conduct.

Beyond addressing his own comments, Jantuah called on political figures to exercise restraint in their public statements and actions, particularly when disagreements could heighten divisions within society.

He emphasized that both politicians and media professionals have responsibilities to promote peaceful coexistence, constructive dialogue and national development.

Jantuah concluded by reaffirming his commitment to responsible journalism and expressed his desire to contribute to a more peaceful and united Ghana.
