Dele Farotimi Reacts As Court Orders Wike’s Son To Submit American Passport Over $2.1M Land Dispute

Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi has reacted to a recent Federal High Court ruling in Abuja involving Jordan Wike, the son of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, over a disputed $2.1 million land transaction.

Farotimi expressed his reaction in a post published on his official X account on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, shortly after reports of the court proceedings emerged.

The case centres on allegations made by the claimants concerning a proposed land transaction in Abuja. According to the allegations, Jordan Wike had agreed to assist with the acquisition of 60 hectares of land within the Federal Capital Territory.

PM News reported that Justice Sylvanus Oriji directed Jordan Wike to surrender his American international passport to the court in connection with the disputed transaction.

The court’s directive has since generated attention, particularly because of Jordan Wike’s relationship with the FCT minister and the financial value attached to the land dispute.

Following the report, Farotimi took to social media to comment on the development. In his post, the lawyer made a remark drawing a comparison between Jordan Wike and his father.

Farotimi’s statement appeared to reference the family background of the Wikes while commenting on the allegations surrounding the younger Wike.
