Game Informer GTA 6 coverage: New Leonida details spark excitement on Reddit

The new images show coastal landscapes, wilderness, wildlife, aircraft, and dark storm clouds. For the cover story, Game Informer interviewed Rockstar and got many new details about the game world, gameplay, and technology. These revelations are already sparking a lot of discussion on Reddit.

The mood in the Reddit thread is almost euphoric. Leonida’s wide natural landscapes remind many fans of Red Dead Redemption 2, and some hope Rockstar is planning more than just a bigger, better-looking GTA 5.

Some fans hope GTA 6 will mix GTA’s usual open-world freedom with the rich detail and immersive world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Some people have criticized the screenshots for being low-resolution and heavily compressed, but the excitement remains high. Four of the twelve new images are already on Reddit.

The new weather system is getting a lot of attention. GTA 6, which is available for pre-order on Amazon, will have localized, dynamic weather. This means it can be sunny in one area while a storm happens just a few miles away.

Tropical storms and hurricanes are confirmed, and wind will visibly move plants, water, hair, and loose objects in the game world.

Reddit users are already thinking about what they can do, like flying into a hurricane or testing how lightning and severe weather change the world around them.

People are just as excited about Leonida’s wildlife. The state will have over 170 animal species, including more than 60 types of birds and over 30 land mammals. Confirmed animals include alligators, flamingos, sharks, whales, rays, and even rhesus macaques.

Some species are expected to be especially rare, which has led to more comparisons with RDR2.
