Three trucks were involved in a serious head-on collision on the R511 Thabazimbi Road at Pienaarsrivier Bridge on Wednesday, resulting in extensive damage and a diesel spill across the roadway.

According to Our Ambulance, Fire & Rescue, emergency crews responded to the crash involving the three heavy vehicles.

The impact caused significant damage to the trucks, while diesel spilled onto the road, creating an additional hazard for motorists approaching the crash scene.

Despite the severity of the collision and the damage to the vehicles, no serious injuries were reported.

The circumstances leading to the head-on collision have not been confirmed.

Motorists using the R511 in the area were urged to approach the scene with extreme caution and to follow instructions from emergency personnel.

A diesel spill can make the road surface particularly dangerous, especially for heavy vehicles that require considerably more distance to slow down and stop.

Drivers approaching crash scenes should reduce their speed well before reaching the affected area, maintain a safe following distance and avoid sudden braking or lane changes.
