Peter Salasya Marvels at Gachagua’s Texas Ranch, Says He’ll Buy Land in US

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya attracted attention after visiting a sprawling property associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Texas, United States.

Salasya and Gachagua were filmed walking around the ranch on Monday, September 28, with both dressed in Western-style outfits, including cowboy hats. The property featured open grassland, horses and longhorn cattle, giving the visit a distinctly rural Texas feel.

A sign reading “Karibu Wamunyoro Texas”, decorated with Kenyan and American flags, was also visible at the property. The display appeared to connect Gachagua’s well-known Wamunyoro identity in Kenya with his activities among Kenyans living in the US.

Salasya appeared impressed by the size and surroundings of the ranch. He remarked that he had seen the rural side of Texas and jokingly expressed his own ambition to purchase land in America one day.

The visit comes days after Gachagua shared photographs from Dallas showing a large red-brick residence, a golf cart carrying a Texas plate marked “Riggy G” and a property displaying an “I ❤️ Wamunyoro” sign.

Gachagua described Dallas as his “home away from home” and said he was in the US with his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, to engage with Kenyans living there and build networks for collaboration.

The latest images of Salasya and Gachagua at the ranch have generated discussion among Kenyans online, particularly because of the property’s rural setting, cattle and horses.

The visit also highlighted the continued activities of Kenyan political figures among the Kenyan diaspora in the United States.
