Meanwhile, Siya Kolisiâs ex-wife, Rachel Kolisi, has sent a stern message to those whoâve questioned her decision to keep her last name in a TikTok video.
Some have even speculated that the clip is a dig at her exâs new girlfriend, who shares her name.
In the TikTok, Rachel is seen arriving in the Eastern Cape – where Rachel John has a surf camp in Jeffreyâs Bay – to the soundtrack of Chamillionaireâs Ridin, which includes the lyrics; âThey see me rollin, they hatinââ.
Rachel cheekily captioned the clip: âFirst name. Last Name. Same Sameâ.
The mother-of-two has spoken about keeping the âKolisiâ name.
Speaking at a recent event for her book Falling Forward, Rachel responded to a question about why she chose to keep her marital surname, despite her divorce.
She mentioned a time when she was approached by a woman in a supermarket, who referred to her as âSiya Kolisâs wifeâ.
She said of the encounter: ââI was like âNopeâ. Then I stopped and said âMy name is Rachel, itâs nice to meet youââ.
Rachel reflected on why she did not revert to her maiden name, which is Smith.
She continued: âWhat is really important for me is to create stability for my children in two years, after they have moved five times, three times in schools and twice overseas. It was the most unstable, insane years of their lives, plus their parents got divorced on top of that.
âStability not just for my children, but for myself and for the people around me. Was a surname change desperately needed at the time? No. Will I do it eventually? I donât know. Why is the public so intrigued about this? I have no idea. But for now, Iâm Rachel Kolisi, and Iâm very proud to be Rachel Kolisiâ.
