Death? Bad News for ODM Leaders and Supporters as UK Doctors Reveal This

ODM Party Leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga remains in the United Kingdom as he continues with medical appointments, with fresh reports drawing attention to his political activities during the period.

Reports from the UK indicate that medical professionals have advised Oburu to reduce intensive political engagements as he continues with his medical stay. However, there has been no public confirmation that he has been ordered to quit active politics or stop serving as ODM party leader.

Oburu travelled to the UK earlier this month after receiving advice from his doctors and the ODM leadership to undergo a comprehensive medical check-up and take time to rest.

At the time, Oburu described the trip as a routine medical assessment. He also said his temporary absence would give ODM an opportunity to demonstrate that its structures could continue running without his daily presence.

He has since remained in the UK as his medical team completes further appointments.

His sister, Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga, recently said Oburu had improved but was not yet ready to return to Kenya. She explained that he was staying close to the medical facility to make it easier for him to attend appointments.

An aide also said doctors were yet to give him clearance to return to Kenya.

Despite the medical process, Oburu has continued with some public engagements. He recently hosted Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK, Maurice Makoloo, at his residence, where they discussed Kenya-UK relations and the Kenyan diaspora.

During his absence, ODM has continued with its activities under the party structures he named before travelling. Deputy party leaders Paul Simba Arati and Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, together with the National Central Committee and secretariat, were identified to help oversee party affairs.

The latest reports come as ODM remains active ahead of the 2027 General Election.

For now, Oburu remains in the UK as doctors continue assessing his condition, while questions remain about how much political activity he will undertake before returning to Kenya.
