COCOBOD Explains How Stronger Cedi Could Affect Cocoa Farmers’ Earnings

According to a report by ChannelOne News published on September 28, 2026, the Head of Corporate Communications at COCOBOD, Sam Jerome has explained that a stronger Ghanaian cedi can limit the amount cocoa farmers receive when international cocoa earnings are converted into local currency.The explanation comes as Ghana begins the 2026/27 cocoa season, following the government’s decision to set the producer price at GH¢42,400 per tonne, equivalent to GH¢2,650 per 64-kilogram bag.
