The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has renewed its criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging that he has not demonstrated the capacity required to provide effective leadership for Nigeria.

The party raised its concerns through the National Publicity Secretary, Mr Abubakar Yusuf, in Abuja on Friday, accusing the President of allowing family members, principal aides and other unelected individuals to exercise undue influence over the administration.

Yusuf alleged that the Tinubu administration had become disconnected from Nigerians and was failing to respond adequately to the country’s security and economic challenges.

The APM also faulted the President’s absence from major international engagements, particularly the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), arguing that such engagements provide opportunities for the Nigerian leader to advance the country’s interests at the global level.

US President Donald Trump said Saturday that he had rejected a plan proposed by Iran on the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran says would have opened the waterway within seven days.

“I reject their proposal,” Trump told reporters outside the White House.

They want to make a deal where they open the Strait immediately because they’re losing so badly,” he said. “They want to make a deal and I think that’s fine. I like making a deal too.”

Kaduna State Government has organised special prayers for peace, stability and economic prosperity of Nigeria at Sultan Bello mosque, as part of the 66th Independence Day celebration, which will culminate in a parade on October 1st.

Led by the Deputy Chief Imam, Malam Abdullahi Aliyu, the supplications were made after the Jumaat prayer, which had the Secretary to Kaduna State Government, Dr AbdulKadir Muázu Meyere, senior Government officials and Muslim faithful in attendance.

The Deputy Chief Imam prayed to Allah(SWT) to grant President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, wisdom and guidance to steer the affairs of the country and Kaduna State respectively.

Former Chief of Staff to ex Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Alhaji Bashir Sa’idu, has vowed that he would demonstrate his political prowess by ensuring a total victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC in 11 Local Government Areas in Zazzau Emirate in the 2027 election.

Sa’idu, also a former Commissioner of Finance, recently defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the APC alongside thousands of his supporters.

Speaking when the Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs, Isa Lawal, visited him at his residence, Sa’Idu vowed that he would demonstrate his political influence and counter claims that he joined the APC without significant followers.

Sa’idu said the APC would record a different result in Zaria Local Government during the coming elections, promising to surpass previous electoral records.

He said the party would secure more votes in Zaria than those recorded for former President Muhammadu Buhari in previous elections.
