The Kenya Roads Board has opened a fresh registration process for suppliers, contractors, and consultants seeking to provide goods, works, and services to the agency.

In a notice obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, the board said the registration will cover the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.

The exercise is intended to maintain an updated pool of eligible firms that can be considered for the supply of goods, execution of works, and provision of services to the Board.

“The Board intends to update its list of registered suppliers and hence invites applications from interested firms as follows: Registration of prospective suppliers for supply and delivery of goods, works and services for financial years 2026-2027 and 2027-2028,” the notice stated.

According to the board, the registration exercise is open to prospective suppliers as well as previously registered firms.

Existing suppliers have been instructed to submit fresh applications and provide updated information in line with the requirements set out in the registration documents.

Interested firms can access the registration documents, including detailed requirements and application instructions, through the Board’s website and the Public Procurement Information portal.

The notice indicated that the deadline for submitting applications has been set for Tuesday, September 8.

However, the Board explained that submissions will continue to be received and evaluated after the initial deadline, with registration undertaken on a bi-annual basis throughout the two-year period.

Applications will be accepted for different categories of goods, works, and services required to support the Board’s operations and road-related programmes.

The fresh registration push comes as numerous road maintenance, rehabilitation, and development works continue across the country.

In addition, several major road projects are being planned, including an expressway from Mombasa to the Ugandan border, recently outlined by the Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships, linking the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway with the Nairobi Expressway, the proposed Rironi-Mau Summit Highway, and the Mau Summit-Eldoret-Malaba road.
