The new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah alias COKA, has urged members of the party to put aside their personal differences, combine their strengths, and work together to rebuild the NPP in the region.

“The NPP belongs to all of us. It is our party; it does not belong to any single person. Let us be honest—our great NPP is not in the best position now.

“The party is in opposition, a very unpleasant place. Our place is in government, not opposition,” he stated in his acceptance speech after winning the party’s polls.

Heartbeat

He reminded the party faithful that the Ashanti Region was the heartbeat of the NPP.

“It is the party’s stronghold. It contributes the highest number of votes to NPP in elections. If it fails, the NPP is in trouble. The Ashanti Region cannot fail the NPP in 2028,” he stressed.

Mr Appiah, therefore, emphasized the need for them to work together, think together, decide together, and solve their issues together.

Unity

Mr Appiah said it was important that party members stay united, focused, and determined to build a stronger and better future together.

“In times like this, unity becomes a must.  Let us close our ranks. I promise to lead the way and I will need your help,” he said.

He said it was important that they respect each other, listen with open minds, speak with kindness, and act with integrity, stressing that “it calls upon us to heal wounds, and sow seeds of hope for our party’s future.”

Opportunities

He said under his chairmanship, everybody would have the chance to perform his or her duties as prescribed by the constitution.

He said the 2024 elections taught the party important lessons, especially that as leaders of party, “we must always listen to our members.”

He gave the assurance that under his administration, he would ensure that everyone who wants to speak or  contribute had the chance to do so.

“In democracy, the majority carries the day, but dissenting views are respected and welcomed,” he stated.

Mr Appiah, therefore, urged the members to stop pulling each other down but rather push each other up.
