Wenchi, (Bono), Aug. 17, GNA – Pastor Maxwell Obour Awuah, the President of the Mid-West Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church has advised Christians not to compromise their faith, amid rapid technological evolution and new media influences.

Instead, he challenged them to use new media productively to spread the gospel of God and stay away from the growing trend of digital compromises.

Pastor Awuah gave the advice when he addressed the closing session of the 2026 Annual Camp Meeting of the church at Wenchi in the Bono Region.

It was on the theme: “Integrated for mission grounded in the bible and focused on the mission” and attended by SDA members drawn from Wenchi East, Wenchi West, Tain and Banda Districts of the Church.

“I am not condemning digital information and social media use, but you must leverage that to spread the gospel of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ,” Pastor Awuah advised.

He expressed regret about the abusive and indecent use of social media, noting that: “Today billions of people, especially young adults, gather virtually via social media platforms and we must take the opportunity to spread the Word among them.”

Pastor Awuah advised Christian youth to shape the narratives by using the new media “to inject the Christian faith in their everyday online interactions.”

He explained that the theme for the meeting resonated with the need for the church to intensify evangelism and to win more souls to the kingdom of God, saying that remained the church’s 2026-2030 road map.
