Four suspected robbers arrested over machete attack in Ogun

Operatives of Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe) Corps, have arrested four suspects for allege armed robbery in Oke-Efon.

The suspects were said to have inflicted machete injuries on their victim before rescue by the operatives and members of the Oke-Efon Community.

They are: Muhammed Ibrahim, 35; Umukoro Godfrey, 24; Lawal Azeez, 29; and Ogunbiyi Junior, 20.

They were arrested following a disress call received by the Bode Olude Division from members of the Oke-Efon Community on August 28, 2026 at about 3:30pm, of an armed robbery operation in the area.

The Corps’ Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo confirmed this to newsmen in a statement made available by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Ganzallo said that upon the receipt of the information, the Divisional Officer of Bode Olude, CSC Ibrahim Tajudeen, swiftly mobilized his men to the scene.

“On arrival, the team met a victim (name withheld), who had been robbed and left with machete wounds along the bush path.”

“The agonizing cry of the victim was what attracted passersby and they immediately surrounded the location of interest.”

“Some members of the community who were aware that the personnel of the Corps had been alerted, waited for the team’s arrival” he said.

The commander added that when the team was spotted by the residents, they joined the team to advance and to effect arrest of all the suspects.

Exhibits recovered includes: One cutlass and Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (17,500) that was forcefully collected from their injured victim.

He, however, said that both the suspects and recovered exhibits had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Adatan Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
