mNotify launches AI programme to accelerate digital transformation for 14 Ghanaian SMEs

mNotify has officially launched a three-month Digital Transformation Drive that will equip 14 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana with artificial intelligence (AI) and digital solutions to improve productivity, strengthen customer engagement, and drive measurable business growth.

The initiative, unveiled during the company’s 14th anniversary celebration in Accra, selected 14 businesses from more than 100 applicants across sectors including hospitality, manufacturing, e-commerce, software development, and cybersecurity. The programme is designed to help businesses solve operational challenges through data-driven digital transformation rather than adopting AI as a standalone trend.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Ronald Tagoe, Chief Executive Officer of mNotify, said successful digital transformation begins with identifying business problems before introducing technology.

“Our goal is to change the narrative around digital transformation. We start with the problem, not the technology. Businesses need to understand what they want to solve and what data they have before AI can create real value.”

Over the next three months, participating SMEs will receive technical support to redesign workflows, digitise business records, and integrate AI-powered customer engagement and cloud solutions through the Omni mNotify platform.

According to Mr. Tagoe, businesses with limited digital records will first be supported to establish reliable data collection systems before implementing artificial intelligence.

He noted that poor record management remains one of the biggest barriers preventing SMEs from tracking customer behaviour, analysing sales trends, managing inventory, and making informed business decisions.

“Once businesses have quality data, we help them digitise it and integrate the right AI tools to generate insights that support growth,” he added.

Unlike many innovation programmes, mNotify will evaluate the initiative through measurable outcomes, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and employment creation. Mr. Tagoe stressed that AI should augment human capability rather than replace jobs, arguing that more efficient businesses are better positioned to expand and create new opportunities.

Following the media engagement, the anniversary programme continued with a panel discussion featuring industry leaders who explored the future of AI adoption and digital transformation in Ghana. The conversation highlighted the importance of collaboration, practical innovation, and developing clear AI strategies tailored to the needs of businesses across different industries.

During the discussion, Mr. Tagoe announced that the 14 SMEs represent only the first cohort of a much larger vision. Future editions of the Digital Transformation Drive will welcome businesses from all sectors, with the long-term goal of supporting hundreds of Ghanaian enterprises through structured AI transformation programmes.

The event also marked the introduction of Impact AI Labs, a new initiative that will create collaborative communities where entrepreneurs, developers, and business leaders can share ideas, discover AI tools, and solve common business challenges together. Under the initiative, mNotify also unveiled Care Arena, a healthcare innovation programme that will use AI and voice technologies to improve healthcare delivery, beginning with awareness and behavioural change around preeclampsia in maternal health.

Guests were later taken through the company’s newly redesigned website, which was officially launched during the ceremony. The platform brings together mNotify’s expanding suite of AI-powered services, including chatbots, voice solutions, intelligent call centre technology, USSD services, voting and ticketing platforms, software development, and AI readiness assessments that help businesses evaluate their preparedness for digital transformation.

The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate mNotify’s 14th anniversary and the official launch of its new digital platform, symbolising the company’s evolution from a bulk SMS provider into a leading AI-powered business solutions company committed to accelerating digital transformation across Ghana.
