High airfares are emerging as a constraint on travel and tourism between Uganda and Kenya, with the private sector calling for measures to make regional air connectivity more affordable.
Speaking at the launch of the 5th Uganda–Kenya Coast Tourism and Innovation Summit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala, PSFU Executive Director Stephen Asiimwe said the cost of flying between Entebbe and Nairobi was discouraging greater movement of travellers and business.
He said more affordable air travel would help deepen tourism flows, increase visitor spending and support wider economic activity.
