Ellen Ama Daaku is a New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team member
A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, Ellen Ama Daaku, has criticised the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the composition of its Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) team, arguing that the exclusion of women undermines the group’s balance and credibility.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Monday, January 12, 2026, Ama Daaku said she was surprised that a team mandated to gather information on alleged corruption did not include a female member, describing the omission as a weakness.
“I even have a problem with the ORAL team because they didn’t add a woman to it.
“If you are chasing people you claim have spent government money, women have a knack for getting information. They should have added one woman,” she stated.
‘Absence of women in MMDAs hinders quality administration’
The ORAL team was chaired by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and included former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo; retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye; private legal practitioner and anti-corruption advocate Martin Kpebu; and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
The team was established by President John Dramani Mahama to gather information on alleged corruption and state capture and has since submitted its report.
Ama Daaku questioned the substance of the team’s findings, noting that members of ORAL had acknowledged that not all cases reported to them were substantiated.
“Even the team came out to say that not all the cases reported to them were proven, so a lot of them were dropped. They even claimed most of the things in the ORAL report are trash. I don’t know how they will retrieve the money they say is in people’s pockets,” she stated.
Her comments come amid a broader public debate over the conduct of the Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine, who has made public statements about individuals alleged to have misappropriated public funds or abused their offices.
