DCOP Osei Akoto replaces COP Teye Cudjoe as Ashanti Regional Police Commander

DCOP Arthur Osei Akoto has been officially appointed as the new Ashanti Regional Police Commander, replacing COP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe, who has been promoted and reassigned to the Police Headquarters in Accra.

The introduction of DCOP Akoto was confirmed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, in a Facebook post on Monday. Dr Amoakohene welcomed the new commander, expressing optimism for continued collaboration between the Regional Security Council and the Ghana Police Service.

“Today, DCOP Arthur Osei Akoto, the newly appointed Ashanti Regional Police Commander, was formally introduced to me by COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, who has been promoted and reassigned to the Police Headquarters in Accra,” the Minister wrote.

“I warmly welcome DCOP Akoto to the Ashanti Region and look forward to a continued strong collaboration between the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and the Ghana Police Service in safeguarding peace, law, and order across the region.”

Dr Amoakohene also thanked COP Teye-Cudjoe for his service, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining stability during his tenure. “The region remains grateful for his leadership and partnership,” he added.

The Minister emphasised that under the leadership of DCOP Akoto, efforts to strengthen security coordination and uphold public safety in the Ashanti Region will continue.
