‘Fake Alfa, Prophet, You Will Die In My Place’

Legendary Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, has replied to a controversial Muslim cleric popularly known as Alfa Olopa Meta, over a death prophecy about him.

Naija News learnt that the Alfa earlier claimed that Osupa will die on January 10 2026.

The cleric who claimed to have begged God on the singer’s behalf told Osupa to buy a big ram for prayers.

However, reacting to the prophecy during a live performance on Sunday, January 11 2026, Osupa said that those wishing him death would die in his place.

He said, “Fake Alfa and prophet please don’t wish me dead. Everyone who wishes me dead will die in my place.

“Close enemies, unknown enemies, enemies of my career and the ones in my neighborhood, better don’t wish me dead, or you would die before me.”

Meanwhile, Saheed Osupa recently expressed appreciation to Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy, after naming him his ‘greatest musician of all time’ (GOAT).

Naija News reports that Burna Boy, in a recent chat with tennis legend, Roger Federer, revealed that his “GOAT singers” are mostly Fuji artistes, like Saheed Osupa.

Reacting via his 𝕏 handle on Thursday, Osupa appreciated Burna Boy for the acknowledgement, stressing that the tribute to him on a global stage was a monumental moment that celebrates the soul of Fuji music and its timeless influence.

Saheed emphasised that the honour not only uplifts his journey, but also shines a brilliant light on the rich cultural heritage of Fuji music, bridging generations and genres worldwide.

The Fuji legend added that he looks forward to attending one of Burna Boy’s upcoming concerts.
