The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of its 2026 inter-regional and inter/intra-district re-posting exercise for staff across the country.

The process covers teachers and education workers seeking transfers between regions and districts.

According to the GES, the re-posting process begins with the issuance of assurances to eligible applicants.

In a circular issued on Wednesday, June 3, the service directed regional and district offices to strictly follow the approved procedures to ensure smooth processing of applications.

The exercise is expected to run through to the end of August 2026.

“Management brings to the attention of all Regional/Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors the commencement of this year’s Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-posting,” the statement read in part.

The Service noted that issuance of assurances begins on Wednesday, June 3, and ends on June 17.

GES further stated that processing of inter-regional applications at the regional level will begin on June 17 and run until June 30.

It indicated that final approval of all re-posting applications will take effect from the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year in September.

The Service also directed regional offices to submit processed documents to headquarters as and when they are received to speed up processing.

It emphasised that no staff will be released for reposting without formal approval and issuance of a re-posting letter by the Director-General.
