Professionals from Anlo Afiadenyigba in the Volta Region have marked a historic milestone with the inauguration of the Team of Facilitators, Commissions and Commissioners of The Action Room at a well-attended ceremony held on May 16, 2026 at the town’s market square.

The theme for the ceremony was “Mobilising professionals for the sustainable development of Anlo-Afiadenyigba”.

The professionals, drawn from various sectors including education, health, tourism, engineering, agriculture, business, and public service, gathered to demonstrate their commitment to the development of their hometown. The Action Room, formally launched on 4 April 2026, is a development-oriented initiative comprising professionals who are natives and affiliates of Anlo Afiadenyigba.

The initiative seeks to mobilise expertise, resources, and networks toward the holistic development of the community.

The Action Room is led by a seven-member facilitation team including Prof. Edem Kwasi Bakah, Jordan Dodoo, Hope Dekorn, Faith Xoese Kuedofia, Francis Yram Kaledzi, Evans Kwame Yevu-Agbi and Mama Diawor Zorƒuaxanyi II. It aims to promote sustainable transformation of the town by harnessing the intellectual and material resources of its people.

Addressing the gathering, the Team Lead of The Action Room, Prof. Edem Kwasi Bakah, emphasised the need for unity, innovation, and collective responsibility in advancing the development agenda of Anlo Afiadenyigba.

He stated that, “as professionals both at home and abroad, we need to contribute our quota for the sustainable development of the community. This will ensure a lasting legacy beyond our personal accomplishments”.

A total of fifteen commissions were inaugurated to spearhead various aspects of the town’s development. The commissions are expected to focus on key areas such as resource mobilisation, education, health, security and conflict resolution, infrastructure, tourism, youth empowerment, agriculture, sanitation and economic development.

Speaking on the theme, Chris Foli, an agri-business consultant who also serves as the Commissioner for Resource Mobilisation of The Action Room, noted that the development of the town hinges on the contribution of everybody; he therefore called for the support of all indigenes to make the initiative a success.

He further appealed to members of the community to work together to secure lands for development projects.

In his address, Apostle Togbi Kadzahlo Drabese IV, Dufia of Anlo Afiadenyigba, expressed his gratitude to the initiators of The Action Room and announced the full endorsement of the project by the traditional leaders of the town.

He stated that, “unity in our town is vital to ensure our collective growth”.

He admonished the Team of Facilitators and Commissioners to work with dedication and courage to be able to achieve the objectives of The Action Room.

The Chairperson for the event, Dumega Innocent Nyameshie commended the people behind the initiative and encouraged the commissioners to work diligently and selflessly in the interest of the community.

The team of facilitators was sworn in by Dufia Apostle Togbi Kadzahlo Drabese IV while Rev Elias Weldeck Kafui Denoo led the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to take their oath of office.

The inauguration formally empowers the commissioners to begin work in their respective commissions to promote sustainable growth and unlock the untapped potential of Anlo Afiadenyigba for the benefit of present and future generations.

The ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, community members, youth groups, professionals, and invited guests from across the country.
