“I Started As A Balabala With One Phone In Front Of Adum Melcom” – Kumasi Phone Dealer Larbi Phones

A popular phone dealer in Kumasi, widely known as Larbi Phones, has shared the story of his humble beginnings, revealing how he started his mobile phone business with just one phone in front of Adum Melcom.

Larbi Phones, who has grown into a recognised name in Kumasi’s mobile phone business, reflected on the challenges he faced while building his career and establishing himself in the competitive mobile phone market.

Recounting his early days, the businessman disclosed that he started as a balabala, a term commonly used to describe individuals who engage in small-scale buying and selling, with only one phone available for sale.

According to him, his business journey began in front of Adum Melcom, where he worked hard to attract customers and gradually build his customer base.

His story highlights the humble beginnings of an entrepreneur who started with limited resources but remained determined to grow his business.

From selling a single phone, Larbi Phones has reportedly developed his operations into a recognised phone dealership in Kumasi, earning attention for his progress in the industry.

His revelation has also sparked conversations about entrepreneurship, patience and the importance of starting small rather than waiting until one has enough capital to establish a major business.

Many aspiring business owners face the challenge of raising money before starting their preferred ventures. However, Larbi’s experience demonstrates how determination, consistency and a willingness to begin with whatever resources are available can become important steps towards building a business.

His journey from selling one phone outside Adum Melcom to becoming a known phone dealer serves as an inspiring reminder that successful businesses can have very modest beginnings.

His story is also encouraging young Ghanaians who aspire to become entrepreneurs to remain focused on their goals and make the most of available opportunities.
