Ashabi Celebrates as She Begins NYSC Journey After Years of Waiting

Nollywood actress Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, has expressed gratitude and excitement as she begins her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The actress, who is known for her relationship with singer Portable, recently announced that she was finally fulfilling one of her mother’s wishes by participating in the mandatory national service.

Sharing her excitement in a new post on her Instagram page, Ashabi described the development as a dream come true.

She revealed that it took her five years after secondary school to begin her university education and another three years after graduation to start her NYSC journey.

According to her, the moment has reminded her of one of the major reasons she pursued higher education. She also expressed appreciation to God and everyone who supported and encouraged her along the way.

Ashabi further disclosed that her mother had always wanted her and her sister to acquire university degrees, making the achievement particularly meaningful to her.

The actress also thanked those who believed in her and contributed to making the achievement possible, describing the moment as one she would always cherish.

Ashabi’s NYSC announcement comes months after she reflected on her personal experiences while celebrating her birthday in January.

During the celebration, she shared pictures of herself in an unusual costume, explaining that they represented some of the difficult experiences she had encountered in her late twenties.

She also spoke about the lessons she had learnt over the years, expressing hope for better days ahead and leaving her future in God’s hands.
