2Baba Announces First Album Release In Six Years
Nigerian music veteran Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has announced the release date for his forthcoming album, Oldest Young Man, marking his return with a full-length project after six years.
The singer made the announcement on Tuesday through his Instagram page, revealing that the 16-track album will be released on November 27, 2026.
Sharing the news, 2Baba described the project as a continuation of his musical legacy, writing, “The legacy continues. OLDEST YOUNG MAN drops 27.11.26. Timeless music, no expiration date.”
The forthcoming project will be his first studio album since Warriors, which was released in February 2020.
2Baba had earlier hinted at the project in August, describing it as a reflection of his experiences and continued journey in the music industry.
He also gave fans an early preview of the album during a listening party held in September in Lagos as part of activities marking his 51st birthday.
Despite the six-year gap between albums, the award-winning singer has remained active, releasing singles and collaborating with other artistes, including his September 2026 release, Mental, featuring Fave.
Our correspondent reports that 2Baba began his music career as a member of Plantashun Boiz alongside Blackface and Faze before launching his solo career in 2004 with the album Face 2 Face, which featured the hit song African Queen.
