“I won’t stop talking about Sarkodie — who are you — Stonebwoy’s PRO dares critics

Stonebwoy’s Head of Public Relations, Vida Adutwumaa, has boldly pushed back against critics questioning her decision to repeatedly mention rapper Sarkodie’s name, declaring that she will not allow public pressure to dictate what she can or cannot discuss in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.

Vida’s strong response follows criticism she received after expressing her displeasure with Sarkodie over his reported decision to share a video allegedly mocking persons with disabilities, including dancehall musician Stonebwoy, popularly known as Livingstone Etse Satekla.

In a video circulating on X, the outspoken public relations executive addressed those questioning her comments, making it clear that her long-standing experience in the entertainment industry gives her the confidence to speak on issues involving musicians and other developments within the creative sector.

According to Vida, she has spent nearly two decades working in the industry, having started her professional journey in May 2007. She insisted that nobody has the authority to dictate the subjects she should discuss or prevent her from expressing her opinions.

“I won’t stop mentioning Sarkodie’s name. I won’t stop mentioning the name of any other artiste,” she declared, while taking a swipe at critics she believes lack the experience to question her professional judgement.

She further challenged those attacking her to consider their own ages and experiences before attempting to lecture her about how to conduct herself in the industry.

Vida also dismissed suggestions that her position as Stonebwoy’s PRO should prevent her from commenting on issues involving other musicians.

She explained that working closely with Stonebwoy does not mean she must remain silent on broader entertainment industry matters. Rather, she maintained that the musician appreciates her ability to understand industry developments while effectively handling his public relations responsibilities.

She also suggested that critics may not understand the nature of the private conversations she shares with Stonebwoy, insisting that even the person paying her has not questioned her conduct.

Her remarks have added another layer to the ongoing conversation surrounding Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and the responsibilities of entertainment industry personalities when controversies involving fellow musicians emerge.
