Six Political Parties in Ghana Allege Land Cruiser Br1be in Adu-Boahene Case, Call for a Fair Trial
Six political parties without representation in Ghana’s Parliament have raised concerns over allegations that judges handling the ongoing Adu-Boahene case are receiving brand-new Toyota Land Cruisers.
According to a report by UTV Ghana on November 2, 2026, the parties made the allegations during a press conference at the International Press Centre in Accra, bringing renewed attention to the integrity of the judicial process.
The parties involved are the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), National Democratic Party (NDP), People’s National Party (PNP), Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) and Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).
The case, formally known as Republic v Adu-Boahene & Ors, is being heard by Justice Achibonga at the Specialised Court.
Speaking under the theme, “Justice Without Fear or Favour: Let the Law, Not Political Power, Determine the Adu-Boahene Case,” representatives of the six parties questioned whether the reported distribution of vehicles could undermine public confidence in the court proceedings.
They stated: “Justice must be seen to be done. How can Ghanaians trust the Specialised Court when judges are allegedly receiving brand-new Land Cruisers?”
The parties maintained that the outcome of the case should be determined strictly by the law rather than political influence or personal interests. They also stressed that judicial independence and impartiality are essential to maintaining public confidence in Ghana’s justice system.
Their intervention has added a political dimension to the ongoing proceedings, particularly as the case continues to attract national attention.
However, the allegation concerning the vehicles remains unverified in the information provided, and no evidence or response from the judiciary was included in the report.
As the trial continues, the parties are calling for transparency and fairness, insisting that the court must demonstrate independence throughout the proceedings.
